Meet Your Mediator

The Mediation Message

Ms. Bradford-Smith completed her coursework at the Emory Center for Ethics, presented by the Healthcare Ethics Consortium, under Dr. Timothy Hadeen of Kennesaw State University and Dr. Kathy Kinlaw of Emory University.

She performed her required court observations of mediations in Fulton County Court, and is a mediation professional, registered as a General Civil Mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, under the authority of the Supreme Court of Georgia.

For over twenty years, her career consisted of professional positions at both regional and national levels in management and business development, for both profit and non-profit sectors. These positions specialized in the Healthcare and Senior Services industries. She continues to serve these communities in mediation. Utilizing her certification as a Patient Relations Specialist through coursework in 1993 at the University of Georgia, the official registration as a General Civil Mediator in Georgia, along with her career in healthcare services, uniquely positions Dee as a knowledgeable partner in the mediation process. Her personal experience as the primary caregiver for both husband and parent, spanning 16 years of interfacing with healthcare systems from a personal perspective adds to her understanding of both sides of the patient – provider relationship.

An avid gardener, Dee loves creating quiet space to reflect in her garden and cuddling with her cherished companion, AndyCat. Her love of poetry spans a lifetime. Published nationally, she is currently developing an anthology of her work.  She is an active member of the Emory Center For Ethics, Healthcare Ethics Consortium, and continues advanced work and study in ethics consultation. She is also a member of Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Sandy Springs.
